With over 31 years of training at the Port Credit Academy of Martial Arts, Sensei Fine holds the rank of Rokudan (6th-degree black belt) and is one of the dojo's most respected and quietly influential instructors.
He thrives on the variety each class offers and values the deep friendships formed through years of training. For Sensei Fine, every session is more than repetition, it's an opportunity to reflect, refine, and give back. His teaching is rooted in curiosity, humility, and a desire to help others grow, not just as martial artists, but as people.
Known for his calm and thoughtful approach, he serves as a mentor to students of all ages, helping them discover the deeper connections between discipline, awareness, and everyday life.
Beyond the Dojo
A retired engineer and entrepreneur, Sensei Fine founded and led a successful company specializing in electronic control systems for industrial and medical use. One of his proudest achievements was selling the business to his staff, ensuring its legacy was built on loyalty and shared success.
Outside the dojo, Sensei Fine enjoys nature walks, gardening, birdwatching, and daily time with his wife and their dog. He is a proud father of two sons raised with the same values he brings to the dojo: humility, integrity, and focus.
Sensei Fine's classes are a reminder that martial arts is a lifelong path, not just of physical skill, but of meaningful growth and lasting connection.
