Looking for a mentor who's mastered the long game? Train with Sensei Coffey.

With 30 years of experience at the Port Credit Academy of Martial Arts, Dean holds the rank of Rokudan (6th-degree black belt) and brings depth, discipline, and humility to every class he teaches. His greatest joy comes from watching students grow, helping them move beyond self-doubt, sharpen their skills, and earn each belt with purpose.

As an instructor, he's calm, methodical, and passionate about guiding students through both the technical and personal journey of martial arts. As a student himself, he's never stopped learning, constantly deepening his knowledge, and embracing the challenges that come with real growth.

Beyond the Dojo

Outside the dojo, Sensei Coffey works as a Business Systems Analyst and enjoys cooking, gardening, movies, and computer programming. His blend of analytical thinking and quiet leadership makes him a steady, trusted presence on the dojo floor.

Train with Sensei Coffey, and you won't just improve your technique. You'll develop the mindset to grow for life.
